The Four Rivers Circle is a small consortium of scholars and specialists who make our 8,000 years of knowledge available to filmmakers so that motion picture productions can be more authentic to history and cultures beyond the West. The studios have Ancient Rome, medieval England and Vikings covered, but what about the Inka, Srivijaya or Mali empires, the mighty city states of the Maya and Olmec, the splendors of dynastic and monastic Asia, or the resistance struggles of the rebel queen Anacaona and the warrior datu Lapulapu in the age of conquistadores?
History can be stranger than fiction. So, the cultural and historical knowledge we provide has the potential to greatly enhance the factual and dramatic content of documentaries and theatrical productions alike.
